A little over a year ago I saw that one my favorite photographers, Joy of Wildflowers Photography, was coming to Asheville NC to host a workshop. I had been dying to go to her workshop but it wasn’t in our budget for me to fly and attend a workshop in California at the time. Well, once she came to NC I knew I HAD to go….even if it was 6 weeks after my son was born. So I did……I packed up my newborn baby and husband and we drove to Asheville. It was the best decision I could have made. I met some of the most sweet, kind, fun, and inspiring group of women I’ve ever met.
We’ve all stayed in touch and when Joy shared her plans to come to Tennessee for a workshop some girls joked it would be fun to attend again. Well turns out everyone was serious about joining up for a reunion so the amazing Alissa took it upon herself to plan the most amazing week of laughter (Serious laughter!), heart to heart late night conversation, inspiration, and just good company! We had so much fun exploring the city, learning to line dance, antiquing, staying in the cutest little house, having mini photo-shoots, chasing the sun, sharing good food, playing secret santa (where the lucky Alissa scored one of Joy’s quilts) and more. I am so grateful to know each and every one of these girls and glad to have been all introduced through Joy. It’s such an amazing feeling when you are surrounded by and friends with so many woman who have such big hearts.
Enjoy a small collection of our trip.
Mini Photo Shoots…
Off to find a location to photograph some more…which ended up being an awesome big red barn on a hill.
