Ok, so I’m sure this picture looks familiar to ALOT of people. I have always been OBSESSED with this picture. I just LOVE it. This sailor just grabbed a nurse, a woman he did not know, and kissed her when celebrating the end of WWII. Well when Paul I started dating I always told him we needed to re-enact this picture because he was in the navy and still has his uniform. I even suggested it as a couples Halloween costume one year. I’m not a nurse obviously, but again I’m obsessed with this picture. Anyhow, we went to the highland games this year and look what we saw in the tent:

There it was hanging. After saying how much I just love that photo, someone explained to Paul and I that the sailor in the picture was a MacDuffee. WHAT?! So I come home to look it up, just to make sure before I really allow myself to get too excited. It’s true.. see, his name was Glenn McDuffie. His naval base was in Kannapolis, NC. I’m probably way over excited about this…but I think it’s totally cool. Now even more reason to re-enact right?! One Day!
